Cheryl Delaney of Vitreous Designs, Glass & Wire Artisan, Halifax, NS is a Lampwork Glass & Wire Artist using live flame to melt different colours of glass to form beads that are combined with precious metals to create jewelry.  All of the glass pieces are hand shaped using a propane/oxygen flame and then finished in a kiln for durability.  Each piece is unique, giving that special gift or treat for yourself, a one of kind quality.

This jewellery incorporates silver, copper, or gold into the glass or uses it as a medium for making the jewelry.  The designs utilize a variety of wirework including Viking Stitch, Byzantine, Japanese Stepping Stones and other chainmaille designs.  Recently, she has added glass blown ornaments to her craft and is in the process of adding others as time goes on.

Cheryl is a member of  LAMPS (Lampworkers of the Atlantic and Maritime Provinces),  the Metal Arts Guild of Nova Scotia, an associate member of the Nova Scotia Designers Crafts Council, a member of the Dartmouth Handcrafters Guild and has been in business for several years.  Her studio is based out of her home in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.  Cheryl sells her work at the Historic Farmers Market (Keith’s Brewery) downtown Halifax on Saturday’s from 7 am to 12:30 pm.
